On 5 October 2008, Lt Col Robert W. McDaris, Jr. assumed command of the 315 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina. This is the largest maintenance squadron in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. They are responsible for maintenance on the Air Force C17 Globe Master. His change of command ceremony was witnessed by several senior Air Force officers and members of his command. There were many members of his family present. There was a reception held at the officers club immediately after the change of command. Lt Col McDaris is currently on active duty with the United States Air Force. He resides with his wife and two children in Smithville, SC. Congratulations Rob on this great accomplishment.
